The following resources have been developed to ensure consistent understanding of and compliance with the new guide and its requirements. For any questions, please contact Daria Stacy at [email protected].

Uploading Documents

Sign into your ADK account, then click the plus button (+) in the top right corner on the panel above to upload certification documents. You will be prompted to choose a file (.jpg, png, .pdf, or .doc), and enter an expiration date (Only required for Sexual Harassment Prevention, Basic First Aid, and Wilderness First Aid).

Click a category below to see available certifications and required components.
If you have completed each component for an OLG level, you will see a completion ✓ next to the program name.

Volunteers

Click on a volunteer program to review its required components. Requirements designated with a ⭱ must have a document uploaded and approved. A * further signifies that you must include the component expiration date with your upload.

Work Participant
Required to participate in Volunteer work events.
  • Age: 18 years or older
  • Membership Status: Current and in good standing
  • *Sexual Harassment Prevention: Upload proof of completion of a Sexual Harassment prevention training course. This component has an expiration date 1 year from completion. For a list of course offerings, click here.


Campground Host
Required to be a campground host at the Adirondak Loj.
  • Age: 18 years or older
  • Membership Status: Current and in good standing
  • *Sexual Harassment Prevention: Upload proof of completion of a Sexual Harassment prevention training course. This component has an expiration date 1 year from completion. For a list of course offerings, click here.


Trailhead Steward
Required to be a trailhead steward.
  • Age: 18 years or older
  • Membership Status: Current and in good standing
  • *Sexual Harassment Prevention: Upload proof of completion of a Sexual Harassment prevention training course. This component has an expiration date 1 year from completion. For a list of course offerings, click here.
Outing and Trip Leaders

Click on a certification level to review its required components.
Requirements designated with a ⭱ must have a document uploaded and approved.
A * further signifies that you must include the component expiration date with your upload.

Level 1 Trip Leader
Required to lead all trips.
  • Age: 18 years or older. Please check your date of birth on your About Me page.
  • Membership Status: Current and in good standing.
  • Read the Outing and Trip Leader's Guide
  • *Sexual Harassment Prevention: Upload proof of completion of a Sexual Harassment prevention training course. This component has an expiration date 1 year from completion. For a list of course offerings, click here.
  • Co-lead Outing: Upload a notice from your chapter chair confirming that you have co-lead an outing with a certified trip leader or have led outings in the past.
  • Leave No Trace 101: This component can be substituted by the Leave no Trace 8hr component. Upload proof of completion of a course through LNT or by signing up for an LNT Skills Workshop offered by ADK. We will also accept a higher form of Leave No Trace certification (e.g. Leave No Trace Awareness Workshop, Level 1/Trainer, Level 2/Master Educator, etc.)


Level 2 Trip Leader
Required to lead class B trips.
  • Level 1 requirements complete and up to date.
  • Co-lead Outing lvl2: Co-lead at least 2 outings with a certified outings leader at this level or have the equivalent leadership experience from having led previous outings. Please upload a note from your chapter outings chair
  • *Basic First Aid: Complete a Basic First Aid Course (e.g., Red Cross). This requirement has an expiration date and must be renewed periodically, usually 2 years. Please use the expiration date shown on your uploaded document.
  • Outdoor Leadership 101: Complete a verified Outdoor Leadership course. See Skills Workshops offered by ADK.
  • Map and Compass: Complete a Map and Compass Fundamentals course through ADK or another approved provider. Skills Workshop offered by ADK.


Level 3 Trip Leader
Required to lead class A trips.
  • OLG Level 1 and Level 2 requirements complete and up to date.
  • *Wilderness First Aid: Complete a Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder course. This component has an expiration date, typically 3 years from completion. Please be sure to enter your expiration date with your uploaded document.
  • Leave no Trace 8hr: Complete a minimum of 8 hours of Leave No Trace training. If you need to upload multiple documents at once to fulfill this requirement, either combine them into a single file prior to upload or email them to [email protected]
